Change

Change is good. But i don't think i like the change that i am having now.

One of my closest friend just accepted a job in Alor Setar. And another one is moving to Ipoh end of this month to manage the business that she'll be running with her fiancee. So going to miss pillowtalk sessions in her bedroom, us girls fighting sapa mandi dulu, us girls scolding Wani because she's forever lembab, oh and the nasi daging bawah rumah yang ze bomb, sigh.

So its just the 4 of us now. I miss the old carefree days. But we're adults now. Taking responsibilities, going on different paths, Its exciting but really scary and the same time.

I was in KL for 2 weeks for Safura and Alwi's reception. It was a lovely one. The bride, gorgeous as always. And i am so happy to hear that she has a bun in the oven. This time around next year they will be parents. Damn. Saw alot of familiar faces, especially Penangites. The food was excellent. I like going to weddings yang tak serve makanan/dishes yang typical/boring. We had cendol, ayam percik (i think!), goreng pisang and banyak lagi lah sampai tak larat nak makan.

Selina's engagement was also that same week. A lovely one too. All food cooked by her Indonesian grandmother.  The grandmother so baik and so cantik for her age. My friends and i loved the food. Banyak Indonesian dishes yang tak pernah rasa tapi semua sedap sedap. There was a singing session too with the band. Her Indonesian aunties sang. Suara sedaaaap and their face ish flawless! Orang Indonesia memang pandai jaga badan and muka kan? Me and the girls tak habis habis puji her aunts. Oh, bestie and i did the makeup for Selina. I was NERVOUS sebab lama tak makeup orang. I guided bestie through and helped her and alhamdulillah we made it. Nasib color muka sama dengan skincolor. I really hate it when i see foundation lighter/darker for the person's skincolor. We tried our hardest to avoid that. I know i need to brush up my skills but what's important is that Selina liked it.

They've been my closest friends since forever and im truly happy for the both of them. I am hoping to launch Project X in June, insyaallah. This might be one of the biggest risk and responsibility that im taking in my life. I am grateful for this opportunity and i can't help asking myself over and over again if im really the right person for this. I guess i need a slap to wake me up and move my ass, fast.

I've got great friends behind me, the ones that sticks by me through thin and thin, i've got E and my sister for their honesty which is crucial when i need to hear someone else's real opinion, not the suck-up ones you know. And few friends that i kept bugging for their views and opinions, im sorry for being a bug-a-boo but please know that i appreciate it so much you guys! And a team that im building for Project X that i know will help each other in need, insyaallah. Here's to the future and all great things, amin!

Relationships And Friends Getting Hitched!

Alwi and Saf got married in an intimate ceremony some time last week (or was it last 2 weeks?).

I was in Shah Alam that week and i was supposed to get on the 12pm bus in KL but i was so busy washing clothes with my barehands (how do people freaking do this!!! Its super tiring!) i missed the bus. And i missed my 3pm flight. So i had to get on the 5pm flight.

Bored out of my mind being internet-less i went to Theobroma Chocolate Lounge to waste my time there because that was the place with the least people. Less than 15mins my laptop happily died on me. This was when i had another 1 and a half hour to kill. Thank goodness i purposely sat next to a minister in the first place so i kept looking at his face (without actually looking like a stalker or him noticing me). He had good skin. Glowing! Better skin than me, a girl! How crazy is that? I guess its true, nothing is impossible if you have moolah. Note to self; must make more money from now on.

I landed in Penang after an hour and it was raining madly. And i was in a real rush so i took the limo home. My grandmother's house is like 10 or 15min away from the airport and i got charged RM30+ for the ride home. CRAZY! I am never taking the limo home anymore. What a waste of money.

The bride looked beautiful (as always!) in a cream long dress with minimal makeup (she is already gorgeous being barefaced, so go figure). I must say the pair looked very handsome together. The food was good too. Not your typical 'kenduri' dishes i must say. We ate, took photos, chit-chatted with the bride and groom and the five of us; Kano, Selina, Kamarul, Wani and myself left for Feringghi. No, i didn't go in my baju kurung of course.

Bumped into Acap and Elis there. We had a long talk about women, men, relationship and the big M word - marriage. It was good to hear what the boys had to say about marriage, relationship and FB dramas. I really needed to hear that because i rarely get to do that kind of conversation anymore because newsflash, everyone is in KL and i am all alone in this island ... sigh.

That is the reason i always try to squeeze that someone out whenever im in KL. The person that i can talk about almost everything, about things that i don't share with E or with the girls. Doing so keeps me sane.

Selina's engagement is less than a month. Alwi and Safura's reception is on the same week. And Intan's hens night will be on that same week too. You can tell i am very looking forward for that first week of April. I miss bestie. She's been busy with work and things we hardly talk anymore, sigh.

I can't wait to go doooooooown there soon! Now i need to plan my outfits for the events!

A Beautiful Yellow Engagement

Last week was the engagement of my darling friends, Intan and Jay.

It was a beautiful day. And both looked beautiful in yellow. The color really stood out against the clean white background and deco. The deco and makeup was done by none other than D' Teruna Dara. The owner did a great job in making it perfect. Pakai semua fresh flowers which is a big yays sebab artificial ones are a big no no!

Intan had less than 2 weeks to plan her engagement sebab bapak Jay bagi tarikh tu so apa lagi kelam kabut lah nasib baik in the end everything alhamdulillah went smoothly.

Intan bought her beautiful dress from Baharim. When she first showed me the baju, both of us macam scared if the color might be 'too much' because it wasn't a pastel color, it wasn't soft. It was heading towards canary yellow. But when i saw it on that day, and bila Intan duduk dekat atas mini pelamin tu, memang cantik! Intan's family wore yellow/white. Jay's family and friends wore brown. Intan requested me and the girls pakai baju same color so we chose teal/turquoise/green.

Bertunang pun dah a la ala akad nikah dah. The most interesting part time engagement ni, both dads so cute dok jual beli pantun. First time dengar orang balas balas pantun ni so it is something new to me. Lepas dah habis balas balas pantun tu, their wedding date was set-up and confirmed then makan time! Food was so good i tell ya! Ada air tebuuu which was our faves (me and the girls)! Lauk pulak ada macam macam. Kambing bakar, udang, ayam, lembu, ikan pekasam, sambal belacan dengan ulam. All of us had way too much food! Tu belum masuk the desserts! We did a small and simple dessert table for Intan. All of us brought each one dessert for her according to the engagement's color palette lepas tu tetiba ada satu makcik letak benda apa tah pulut bentuk bulat bulat macam bola color kuning we all went absolutely nuts! HAHAHA. Intan wanted to put her scones on the 2 tier cupcake stand but the puluts got there instead. Kesian dia. Oh and other thing boleh tak seriously jakun i've never seen bunga rampai in real life. Hari tu first time tengok dengan bau i was so in love with it. Bau wangi gilaaaaaaaaaaa. Intan's mom put it in small pots around the house and inside the room i stole some and put it in my clutch ROTFL. I went home and sprinkled it on my bed and the beautiful smell lasted few days. My sister was like "ehhhhh bau apa ni" when i got back. Of course la bau busuk i woke up at 6am, got back at 3pm, and in the middle of that i was running around Intan's house helping out with things, setting up the dessert table, giving out the macarons and 'bunga telur' favors to her guests teruus tetiba bestie said "hang buat kerja kerja ni semua sangat tak Melissa". I usually don't do anything whenever i at these kind of events except for the planning part. Tetiba hari tu rasa macam rajin pulak semua benda nak buat. Ala busuk pun busuk lah lepas letak bunga ramai atas katil dengan teruus my sister senyap.

Another One Down

So two of my oldest friends got engaged last week in a small intimate ceremony - for close friends and family only. Saf is always gorgeous. She looks gorgeous without makeup so imagine her getting all dolled up, one word - STUNNING!

We got lost finding our way there. Its somewhere in Kedah. Damn i forgot the name of the place. 30-40 mins drive from the mainland. When we got there she was getting ready. I had to pick my jaw up from the floor because she was glowinggg already. You know how they say a girl looks their best and glows all the time during their engagement period kan? But this girl i tell you, belum tunang dah glowing! Ah im so jealous. And i am so happy for the both of them.

Saf looked happy but Alwi mengigil habissssssss! Nak sarung cincin tangan shaking the both of them ha ha. Nak tangkap gambar pun Alwi jadi keras man it was so awkward looking i had to tell Alwi that i might smack him kalau dia tak loosen up. Saf on the other hand, saw Patchi and went nuts! Asking her grandmother if she could have a few right there and then ha ha then her grandmother told her off "Oh mentang mentang hang punya nak makan sekarang!". LOL. Then Alwi's family came, bincang bincang, baca doa then makan. We took few photos and left. Their wedding is some time soon. Hopefully all goes well, insyaallah.

Ouchhh!

Kaki ku dan rahang ku sakit akibat berdiri lama selama 3 hari berturut turut. Rahang aku pula kerana asyik tersenyum mesra.

Okay scratch that - feet hurts, jaw hurts but its all worth it and its all because of loveee! Finally dah selesai all the receptions, both side Ezanee and Syed, phewwww! I went to their akad, and both side kenduris. I didnt go to her 'khatam quran' and 'berinai', tu pun dah kena pot pet dengan dia. I woke up around 2ish yesterday and i managed to get to the Kompleks Masyarakat Penyayang around 4ish. Late i know but knowing her, she will kill me if i didnt go so lambat pun lambat lah asal kan she saw that i came.

Syed's side today was at Kompleks Tabung Haji, a lot of familiar faces. Nak upload photos but i dont have them yet. Kena tunggu official photos from their photographer. Ezanee's makeup cantik sangat. I have always liked Idy's work. He is the mua/wedding planner from Jalinan Kasih. Her makeup was perfect today! She was glowing and looked every inch like a princess. Pity Syed kena food poisoning but he managed to make it till all the guests went home and everythough he was in pain but he was all smiles! I hope he gets better! 

And oh im so jealous with the YSL Muse he got Ezanee. I have alwayssssssssssss suka Muse. Its not a classic bag, its an It Bag but it managed to stay and it won the hearts of many celebs and friends. Maybe i should start to save up for it. Ezanee's size is perfect. 

I hope i get the photos soon. We had to lie on the grass yesterday for photos. The photographer tortured everyone yesterday, luckily not so much today. Nad caught the bouquet yesterday and today haha im guessing shes next (mati lah aku lol)? Ohhh i finally saw Aini's chubby baby Ariff tadi. Masyaallah he is the cutest thing ever! Baik sangat tak banyak songeh and diam saja. His smile made my heart melt!

Okay i missed blogging on two major things ... the royal wedding and Mother's day!

Everyone i know had their eyes glued on the tv to watch the royal wedding and most people already blogged about it so i dont really feel like there's anything left to say but since i am a part of *ahem* the jakun excited people who saw history in the making (i wasnt too small to take part in Princess Diana's wedding) i feel like i had to say something even if i dont want to, get what i mean? You know to look back in 30-40 years time and tell my kids i watched the whole thing went down, that sort of thing ...

So here goes ...

I dislike Kate Middleton's (who is now the Duchess of Cambridge) dresses; the first and the second one. There is no wow factor, at all. To me its just a plain, typical white lace dress. Andddddddd i cant believe she did her own makeup. Say it with me now, "Oh my goodnesssssssssssss!". What was she thinking? Thank God she is pretty with little makeup. But i applaud Kate's effort on making her wedding gown ... simple and 'decent'. From the wedding, i see that Kate is a simple girl showing us that she wants nothing but simplicity in her wedding and in her life which i doubt she'll succeed since she is married to the second in line to the throne. Sorry Kate!

Speaking of Prince William, my jaw dropped hard when i saw him! Balding, sad. Why oh why? Dont they have Yun Nam or something there? With all the money in the world he cant even save his own hair, its sad. He used to be cute. Whatever happened to him? But we're lucky we still have Harry to drool over.

I like Kate's sister's dress. And Lady Kitty Spencer and Victoria Beckham, i love you two! Effortlessly chic! And David Beckham you looked ............................................................... HOT HOT HOT!!!

I wonder how can Victoria walk on those crazyyy shoes? Mengandung pakai kasut tinggi gila dah lah heels so awfully thin, i really look up to her in that department.

Enough on the royal wedding. As we all know, yesterday was Mom's Day. I bought my mother a card. But i was ashamed of my own writing so i didnt send it to her. I have the writing of 5 year old. My friend laughed cause "your writing is as little as you" they say. Hmpphh.

Its the thoughts that matters right mummy? *cough* I'll get you something nice for your birthday instead. 

Happy Mother's Day mummy. Thank you for being an amazing mom for the three of us. Thank you for always being there through ups and downs ... no matter how many times we screw up, no matter how many times you hate us, in the end you're always there for us. You're my idol and i hope to be like you when i have my own kids. I hope i have your patience, your strength, your brain, your weight, your love for cleaning, your ability in saving money, your spirit and your kindness. 

I love youuuuuuuuu tons! x

Pretty In Peach

Yesterday was Nadya's engagement. I was late. Like everyone-is-already-going-home late. But i am not the one to blame! Too lazy to write why. Had too much food yesterday. From the kenduri, to nasi ayam budu, to Anna's house, to Yuza's shop and Ezar's mom made laksa and cucur udang.

Too much, way too much. Im trying to pretend that i am on a diet today cause i've been munching on dried guava chunky slices i bought from Yuza's shop. (I am so hungry please helpppppppppppp!)

I love Nadya's makeup. The MUA did a great job. Her dress pun cantik, just like we planned. She requested for her friends to come in purple. I did not have any purple dress/kurung so i went in my black with green and purple flowers maxi instead. The same one i wore to Faezah's wedding.

Only three of us made it to Nadya's house. The rest was away. I tried to wear a different style yesterday (for the hijab) but i wish the hijab was wider and longer to cover the chest. Note to self; make longer and wider ones.

Nadya looked pretty in peach kan? To Nadya and Kamal, congrats on the beautiful engagement. Food was good too, thank youuu! The day of your engagement isnt going to be the happiest day of your life because there is many many more beautiful happy days to come insyaallah! Congrats again! Im looking forward for the wedding!

Mastura's Wedding

Location: Dewan Putra, Kulim
Date: Last Saturday

It was a gorgeous wedding with splashes of bright colours. The pelamin was beautiful. And i liked what the bride's sister (who is a wedding planner) did for the main table and the photobooth. I helped out with the bridesmaids' outfits, the wedding songs and cake, and little few things here and there. Heck, all the bridesmaids helped out with this and that. The inai, the doorgifts, the guestbook and etc. And alhamdullilah everything went well. Everyone and everything was beautiful. 

Baby Alexander Califf was there too with his mother, Vyia. Oh my he is truly one handsome baby. When he smiled, all the girls went "comelnyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa". Such a little heartbreaker he is. He's just as cute and sweet like the Wondermilk cupcakes Intan bought for the doorgifts. Definitely going to be a player when he grows up! Daddy Nizam and mummy Vyia please take note! LOL

We all ate way too much at the wedding. Because lucky us, the caterer was our friend so we got to eat whatever we wanted hahaha and boyyyyyyyyy we ate a lot! The food was great, songs was great, everything was great. Decoration by D' Teruna Dara. Cantik kan? I really liked the color.

Whenever im at weddings, semangat nak jadi wedding planner tu bertambah tambah. Friends been telling me i should go for it. But i dont know. We'll see. If ada rezeki, insyaallah :)
